WHO IS CHERAY ?

Born and raised in Charleston SC, Cheray also known as Alternese Griffin, started her musical venture in 2004 with choreographing dances and mixing music for stage performances, local artists, cheerleading teams, and dance studios. since childhood, Cheray has always enjoyed dance, music, writing and poetry. She was also a young author at age 12 for her writings. As an adult, she decided to combine them all, by starting a neo soul band called Unspok3n Conc3pt. When the band took a different turn and later broke up, Cheray decided to continue as an independent recording artist. Cheray grew up around music being that her parents were in several bands. Her mother is a vocalist (Alterea Baxter) and her father is a guitar player (Gerald Griffin). "Music is all I knew since I could walk." Cheray is a Avant Pop/ Experimental / Modern Funk recording artist, songwriter, producer, and dance choreographer. " I love all music! One day you may hear an EDM song from me, then the next day, you may hear an R&B song from me. I don't put myself in a box because as a creative individual and person alone, we are always growing and changing !"
